NFL 08 - week 3 - picks

wasn't feeling well, though late posting these are original notes/picks

The teams sitting at 0-2 (San Diego, Jacksonville, Detroit, Minnesota, Seattle, St. Louis, Kansas City, Miami, Cincinnati, and Cleveland) are in overdrive
KC @ATL KC can't stop run
CIN @NYG CIN just doesn't play well
MIA @NE MIA will find it very tough
CAR @MIN MIN new QB, too little too late?
STL @SEA STL just bad, SEA finally wins? lots of inj's
DET @SF DET, only good teams w/on the road...
JAC @IND JAC is beat up on OL, IND is beat up everywhere
CLE @BAL BAL D can still stifle CLE
NYJ @SD SD just overpowers NYJ

09/21 1:00 PM
391 KC 36 *OVER*
392 ATL -4.5 ******
KC-3rd QB-Thigpen starts
I wonder if KC is in overdrive? there is player frustration w/RB Johnson...It's highly doubtful that KC will beat ATL, but they could stay within number. Tease+6 if you must

09/21 1:00 PM
393 OAK 36½ *OVER*
394 BUF -9 *
OAK-RB-Fargas-Questionable
OAK can't defend passBUF can throw

09/21 1:00 PM
395 HOU 39 *under*
396 TEN -5 *****
HOU-RB-Green-Questionable
TEN-QB-Young-OUT
HOU players I don't believe will have their head or heart in the game due to IKE
TEN has a run game number should be 7.5 at least

09/21 1:00 PM
397 CIN 42 under
398 NYG -13 **********
CIN-WR-Caldwell-Questionable
ouch for CIN, another laugher for NYG who are playing very loose and confident

09/21 1:00 PM
399 ARI 42 *
400 WAS -3 under
ARI will be blitz heavy, can WAS OL/QB Campbell hold up?

09/21 1:00 PM
401 MIA 35½ under
402 NE -12.5 **
NE-RB-Maroney-Questionable
NE-TE-Watson-OUT
MIA can't defend pass, will make NE QB Cassell look good

09/21 1:00 PM
403 TB 35½ *
404 CHI -3 over
TB-WR-Stovall-OUT
CHI-WR-Hester-Questionable
TB QB Griese, very calm
CHI QB Orton, will have protection problems from OL, especially TE

09/21 1:00 PM
405 CAR 37 **********
406 MIN -3.5 over
CAR-WR-Smith-Probable
MIN QB Frerotte to start
MIN to little to late? should have started Frerotte last wk, now he gets beat up by the CAR D

09/21 4:05 PM
407 STL 44 **
408 SEA -9.5 over
SEA-WR-Branch-OUT
STL must win already?
SEA multiple inj's and SF showed STL the way to beat SEA w/5 DB's (4-2-5), but STL is rudderless, I'm picking them only because a tease+6 would make it +15.5

09/21 4:05 PM
409 DET 46 over
410 SF -4 *
DET D can't stop anyone, though O can score

09/21 4:05 PM
411 NO 51½ over
412 DEN -5.5 *******
NO-WR-Colston-OUT
NO multiple inj's D, CB, LB, SS
NO just doesn't look explosive w/o WR Colston, I'd make RB Bush a rcvr, let him catch in space and have a FB or TE pass block for QB Brees, NO has weak CB's as well and not enough pressure from front 7 I'm not so sure of over, but DEN might cover 14pts DEN does have secondary issues (lack of speed)

09/21 4:15 PM
413 PIT 45 under
414 PHI -3.5 ***
PIT-QB-Roethlisberger-Probable
PHI-WR-Brown-Questionable
both teams can throw ball, but PIT will try to play keep away, thus my call for the under. how tired will PHI be after emo letdown in MNF loss?

09/21 4:15 PM
415 JAC 42 under
416 IND -5.5 *
JAC-WRs-Porter, Williamson-Questionable
IND-C-Saturday, TE-Clark-Questionable, DB-Sanders-OUT
JAC still has OL issues, 5.5 seems a little large w/Sanders out for IND and OL issues JAC should be able to run ball, but IND is familiar w/them and if they get an early lead, I don't think JAC QB Garrad will make good decisions

09/21 4:15 PM
417 CLE 38½ over
418 BAL -2 ****
CLE-WR-Stallworth-DoubtfulBAL-QB-T.Smith-Questionable
CLE D & QB/WR's not playing well
BAL coming off rescheduled bye wk and have a dominant DL

09/21 8:15 PM
419 DAL -3 ****
420 GB 51 *OVER*
over and over, DAL on high after MNF win @home, on the road and less time to prep. GB next test, which they have yet to pass gotta give DAL the edge.

09/22 8:35 PM
421 NYJ 44 over
422 SD -9 ****SD-RB-Tomlinson-ProbableESPN
NYJ not letting QB Favre pass as much, CB/KR inj'd
SD @0-2 and w/o a running game, unless they decide to let Sprole fill in for LT
